Advance the excitement, meaning,
spirituality and relevance of
the bar/bat mitzvah experience with Covenant Award Finalist Rabbi Goldie Milgram
, author of Make Your Own Bar/Bat Mitzvah: A Personal Guide to Creating
a Meaningful Rite of Passage (Jossey-Bass Publishing) and Living
Jewish Life Cycle: How to Create Meaningful Jewish Rites of Passage at
Every Stage of Life (Jewish Lights Publishing), now in use in over 175

"Revisioning Bar/Bat Mitzvah" and is internationally acclaimed

"Reb Goldie's" joyful, deep and dynamic programs
feature
family, child and adult-centered activities that facilitate emotionally satisfying, intellectually fascinating, spiritually
connected and logistically excellent bar/bat mitzvah processes and
experiences.
Students ages eleven and above
are welcome and must attend sessions with at least one adult. Mature
siblings, parents and grandparents are most welcome and often report
these programs as highlights of their relationship time with the student.
These programs are conducted with an
attitude of respectful religious pluralism. Reb Goldie regards each
approach to Judaism and being Jewish as a flower in the bouquet of the
Jewish people. There are many varieties of rose, pussy cat, etc., of
course there are many ways to be Jewish! Religious and cultural approaches
to b'nai mitzvah are covered depending upon where and for whom these
programs are offered, each is customized to the local need.
Registration for our week-long
international retreat the summer of 2010 and weekend open retreats for
fall 2010 and Spring 2011 coming soon; these are offered at Isabella
Freeman Retreat Center. We can also come to you to offer these locally
as congregational and regional workshops and programs, be
in touch!
